Nativity Play for School leaders

Nativity Play for School leaders

We are delighted to welcome school groups to school performances of The Nativity at Wintershall, starting at 11am on 14 and 15 December.  Suitable for KS2 upwards, schools use these performances as a resource for cross-curricular learning for RE, as well as History and Theatre studies. The performances provide a rich stimulus for exploring Christian spirituality and deepening understanding of the Christian faith. The Nativity is both dramatic and intimate, beginning in the open air with the shepherds in the fields, huddled around their fires. The audience then take their seats in the atmospheric Holly Barn Theatre, where the story unfolds of how Jesus changed the world.

An unforgettable group trip for schools, community groups and families, who are looking to do something spectacular before the end of term. The school performances can be accompanied by a pre or post performance workshop, where school groups get a chance to look behind the scenes of the play, exploring the meaning of Christmas in greater depth - it's a truly unique, special way to celebrate Advent.

Other Christmas resources include:

The Travelling Crib -The Wintershall Education Team will bring our live travelling crib, including donkey, sheep, a wise man and Mary, to a school playground or field and run a day of workshops for the whole school onsite with you.  Limited availability - our crib characters will travel up to an hour from Wintershall (GU5 0LR)

The Travelling Crib arrive in London - By kind permission of the Archbishop of Canterbury, The Travelling Crib are stopping at Lambeth Palace for a week on their journey through Advent, from the 5 - 9 December.
